Aims and Mission Statement

The British Association of Cardiovascular Health Professionals (BACHP) is the professional home for nurses and allied professionals working across cardiovascular care in the UK.

BACHP brings together a diverse multidisciplinary community, including nurses, advanced practitioners, physiologists, pharmacists, psychologists, dietitians, clinical scientists, exercise specialists, researchers and other professionals committed to improving cardiovascular health and care. Our mission is to advance cardiovascular practice through education, professional development, research, leadership, collaboration and innovation.

As cardiovascular care becomes increasingly specialised and complex, professionals require knowledge and skills that extend beyond a single disease area or discipline. BACHP provides a unique cross-specialty forum that complements disease-specific and professional societies, supporting members to develop broad cardiovascular expertise, share learning across specialties, build professional networks, and collaborate to address the challenges facing modern cardiovascular care.

Through education, networking, advocacy and partnership, BACHP supports the development of a skilled, adaptable and future-ready cardiovascular workforce, enabling professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred care, and ultimately improve outcomes for people living with or at risk of cardiovascular disease.
